Learn how to make a crochet, lightweight, front tie cardigan!

While making this spring/summer friendly piece, you will utilize most of the basic crochet stitches while learning how to do the mesh stitch and put together a garment without sewing!

Jaida (she/her) @mrsmoonheaven

Adena Cardigan, pattern by Jaida, is provided in the class.

Almost Advanced. See below for list of specific techniques you need to know to take this class. You can also read about how we determine skill levels here.

Working straight double crochet edges, stacked single crochet, mesh stitch, decreasing, increasing, creating ruffled sleeves, customizing sizing, and seaming techniques.

6 mm / US J crochet hook

From Jaida: My name is Jaida and I’m the owner and designer of Mrs Moon & Heaven, a crochet fashion brand! I started crocheting on a whim at the end of 2020 all because “Santa” thought I crocheted and left a hook in my stocking! I’ve always been what I call a “serial hobby-ist” because I pick up so many creative hobbies and end up dropping them, but crochet was the first one in 20+ years of living that has truly resonated and stuck with me. Since I was a kid, I used to draw up my own fashion designs that lived in only my imagination. Now I create designs worth having in my own closet that are perfect for the impatient crocheter, like myself!

Scholarship Fund

Our Scholarship Fund is contributed to by the shop and our community to help those who need it attend our classes and events.

When signing up for a class or event, anyone is welcome to purchase a Scholarship Fund ticket at a discount as funds allow. When a Scholarship Fund ticket is purchased, the amount discounted is taken from the Scholarship Fund to pay the shop, the shop's staff, and the teacher or host of the class or event the full regular ticket price.

If you are considering purchasing a Scholarship Fund ticket but aren't sure whether it's for you or not, it probably is! The folks who have contributed to the Scholarship Fund wanted to contribute and want the funds to be used! And the lovely people putting on this class or event are still getting paid the full amount to do it. Please only pay full price if you feel you have enough to do so.

We do ask that the amount you use from the Scholarship Fund not exceed $200 per year to allow for the most people to have access to these funds as possible.

If you'd like to use the Scholarship Fund, you can do so by calling the shop (929-529-7542), emailing us (, or coming into the shop and requesting a Scholarship Ticket. We will ask you how much you are able to pay, and the funds available will cover the rest.

This is a new system for us! We would love to hear your feedback or ideas if you have them.
