But you can use any yarn to do filet crochet! We recommend starting on a worsted or DK weight yarn first if you're wary about this new technique or not used to working with lace weight yarn. Note that the larger the yarn is, the less detail your image can have.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe amount of yarn you need will vary depending on what you'd like to make. The smaller the hook, the tighter your gauge will be, and the more contrast your image will have.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you are using a larger yarn we recommend matching your hook size to what is recommended for that yarn.
