Now Hiring Part Time Seasonal Positions!

About the position:
Our shop is a busy one, we've got two businesses in one (yarn shop + cafe) so we are looking for folks who are industrious, excellent at multitasking, friendly, and outgoing. Applicants should be able to complete a list of tasks assigned to them in between helping customers. We also need folks who have great attention to detail, who notice when someone or something needs attention and takes the initiative to attend to it. And of course, we're looking for people who love yarn crafts & helping people get the best materials for their projects!

We are hiring 2–3 part time seasonal positions to be scheduled for 12–24 hours per week. Each new staff member must be available for at least one regular shift on Saturday or Sunday. The season will last from now through the end of January, with the potential for being brought on for a long-term position.

The position starts at $21/hour, with a $1 raise every 4 weeks throughout the 12-week training period. Fully trained staff make $24/hour. We also require that if you don't already have your food handler's license that you obtain one by the end of the training period.

Position requirements:
· Proficiency in knitting and/or crocheting, bonus if you are well versed in both!
· Excellent at multitasking
· Great attention to detail
· Easy-going, approachable personality, can talk to anyone comfortably
· Very comfortable doing basic math (for figuring out how much yarn needed for a project based on pattern requirements)
· Comfortable using (potentially) unfamiliar computer programs (we use Shopify & Notion)
· Comfortable being on your feet for up to 8 hours
· Saturday & Sunday availability + at least one other weekday

We will prioritize applicants who:
· Have yarn store/yarn industry experience
· Have food service/barista/bartending experience
· Have experience in a customer-facing job
· Are able to pick up extra shifts on days they are not scheduled
· Are interested in teaching classes
· Have experience with Notion & Shopify

Event Partnerships

If you would like to pitch an event to host in our space, please send us an email at hello@cleosyarnshop.com. Unfortunately, we cannot say yes to everyone, but we try our best to always at least reply and do make efforts to collaborate as much as possible. We wish we had the capacity to host every single class & event pitched to us, because there are so many good ideas out there! Alas, we are but one small shop.

Due to the high volume of emails we get from folks about events and employment opportunities, we cannot always respond to all the emails we receive. Thanks again for your interest, we'd love to have you in the shop soon as a friend & customer :)
