Andean yarns have been the stuff of legend for hundreds of years; Peruvian textiles made in the 15th and 16th century still hang in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (!!). So how have they lasted so long, and in such wonderful condition? That's likely due to the gorgeous quality of fiber able to be grown and cultivated in Peru's ideal climate.
Enter Amano Yarns, who, inspired by the history and nature of Peru, bring you some of the softest and strongest Andean yarns available on the market today.
Turay is a Worsted weight yarn made from 50% superwash wool and 50% Pima cotton, resulting in a yarn with the softness and sheen of cotton with the flexibility and bounce of wool. It's an easy, breezy, fiber that's beautifully easy on the hands and works up into season-agnostic garments perfect for a brisk spring night or a warm fall evening.
