Marxist Knitting Club: A Philosophy Reading Group & Craft Circle
Marxist Knitting Club: A Philosophy Reading Group & Craft Circle
The next Marxist Knitting Club meeting will take place at 6 PM on Monday, November 25, 2024.
There will be NO meeting in December, because of the holidays!
We will reconvene in January 2025.
[Note: this event will not be recorded or offered virtually, though we hope to offer that in the future!]
Welcome to Marxist Knitting Club – where we're not all Marxists, and we're not all knitters, but acknowledge the name is still really funny.
MKC is a reading group for fiber artists of all stripes with a common interest in critical theory, philosophy, sociology, linguistics and related literature. No prior contact with such materials is needed to participate; only a desire to think critically and discuss texts with other crafters in a creative forum.
Participants are encouraged to read the "homework" provided and, if so desired, take notes and prepare questions; the night of, we'll meet and discuss the text in a lightly-facilitated group while working on our current projects.
Click here to read the blog post about November's meeting and access a PDF of the "homework!"
This event is free and open to all.
Thank you all for your tremendous interest in joining our study group, we'll see you soon!
