This event is sliding scale! Anyone can use code BIKINISLIDINGSCALE20 for a $20 ticket, or BIKINISLIDINGSCALE15 for a $15 ticket.
There are a limited number of sliding scale tickets available; please only sign up for one if you would not otherwise be able to attend this event.
If all sliding scale options have been used, you may request a scholarship ticket instead:

- if you are requesting a full scholarship ticket
- which available dates you would like to come to (if applicable)
No need to explain why you are requesting a scholarship ticket! We award scholarship tickets equally to everyone who requests one.
What is a Make-Along?
What is a Make-Along?
Our Make-Alongs are lightly guided craft circles where everyone is making a similar project. Attendees must feel confident making their project mostly on their own. A host will be present to answer questions & offer some help. For more in-depth instruction, book a class with Cleo here!
Are you as excited for this summer as we are? It's the perfect time of year to plan (and begin) your warm weather projects to be finished in time for the summer. If you're looking for the perfect summer project to show off your skills and make something wearable, look no further!
Join us over the course of 4 Saturdays, from 11 AM - 1PM, beginning April 25 through May 16 for the cutest crochet make-along ever! Over 4 weeks we'll walk you through the steps of picking materials and following your pattern, step-by-step. Previous crochet experience is required.
If you need help picking materials, please show up 15 - 20 minutes before the first session begins.
PATTERN
You can choose any crochet swimwear pattern for this make-along (doesn't have to be a bikini, even!). We do have some recs though:

Please make sure to purchase and download your pattern before attending the first session.
REQUIRED MATERIALS
We typically help students choose the best yarn and hook for their project in their first class session!
Suggested Yarn:
You should choose your yarn based on your pattern, but for bathing suits, we love Hikoo's Cobasi or Cobasi DK due to the versatile, breathable, and bouncy fiber content. You can wear these yarns into the ocean or the pool without fear of damaging your bikini!
For crochet hooks, we'll help you pick based on the yarn you choose & your pattern's required gauge.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Must be comfortable in doing the following techniques on your own:
- Slip knot
- Chain stitch
- Single crochet
- Double crochet
- Increasing
- Decreasing

Each ticket includes $5 off your first cafe drink at each session.
Photography
When you attend a make-along at our shop you agree to be recorded and photographed during the event. If you would like to request that your face, hands, or body not be in any photos or videos that we share on social media please send an email requesting so any time prior to the start time of the class to hello@cleosyarnshop.com. You may still be recorded or photographed during the class but we will respect your request that the videos or images of you not be shared online.
Scholarship Fund
Our Scholarship Fund is contributed to by the shop and our community to help those who need it attend our classes and events. You can read about why we started the fund here.
When signing up for a class or event, anyone is welcome to purchase a Scholarship Fund ticket at a discount as funds allow. When a Scholarship Fund ticket is purchased, the amount discounted is taken from the Scholarship Fund to pay the shop, the shop's staff, and the teacher or host of the class or event the full regular ticket price.
If you are considering requesting a Scholarship Fund ticket but aren't sure whether it's for you or not, it probably is! The folks who have contributed to the Scholarship Fund wanted to contribute and want the funds to be used! And the lovely people putting on this class or event are still getting paid the full amount to do it. Please only pay full price if you feel you have enough to do so.
That said, we also ask that you be mindful of the amount and frequency of requests you make from the fund. Making sure funds are available to as many people as possible is a collaborative effort, so we'll check in with you and you check in with us!
If you'd like to use the Scholarship Fund, you can do so by calling the shop (929-529-7542), emailing us (hello@cleosyarnshop.com), or coming into the shop and requesting a Scholarship Ticket. We will ask you how much you are able to pay, and the funds available will cover the rest.
