Hey, you! Are you looking for a wholesome, fun, and consistent way to meet new people? Seeking a third place where you can work on your projects alongside our ever-growing crafty community? Trying to expand your circle of friends, skill set, time spent out of your apartment, and so on?
You can do all these things and more at our Happy Hour Craft Circle! Because while every hour spent crafting is undoubtedly a happy one, sometimes you knit faster with a bunch of friends and a little drink.
Not a knitter or crocheter? Have no fear; we've seen everything from bargello to chainmail, spinning to mending, and delight in hosting crafters of all types. Show us what you got, or just come enjoy the vibes!
Our cafe inside the shop serves coffee, tea, matcha, and other special non-alcoholic drinks before last call at 7:45 pm!
Each Happy Hour ticket includes $5 off your first drink!
Our Scholarship Fundraiser Happy Hours are usually on the first Friday of the month! All ticket proceeds from the night will go directly into our Scholarship Fund, which anyone can request to use to come to our classes & events for free or at a lower price (read more about the Scholarship Fund here).
Note: Happy Hour is so-called because crafting makes people happy! Our shop is primarily an alcohol-free space (save for the occasional special event).
Additionally, Happy Hour is a craft circle, not a structured class, so there is no knitting or crochet instruction provided. Attendees should bring projects they feel comfortable working on without help, though if you ask a neighbor for a tip they may have one for you :)

The people were friendly, and the work space was spacious. The café drinks are great. I enjoy the cheerful and relaxing atmosphere of Cleos.
I've enjoyed Cleo's from the moment I happened to look them up/stop by on a BIPOC meet-up night. I went to one happy hour and loved it so much I showed up the very next day for a valentine's day craft fair/ happy hour combo. The people I met while knitting were helpful and hilarious. This is the first time I've spent 4+ hours bonding solely over fibre arts and I can't wait to do it again! Thanks Cleo's!
I had a wonderful time. It was my first time in Cleos and it is an amazing store. The staff is truly great and extremely helpful and friendly. I am from Maryland, so this is not something I would be able to do regularly, unfortunately.
Had a great time going to Cleo's Craft Circle recently. So many interesting people and projects. Like that payment is on a scale and that the first drink is included. Nice vibe and atmosphere overall in the store.

This store is a true gem. The staff are so kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I have met new friends organically here and that is a truly wonderful thing to have in New York. Cleo's is so much more than just a store, it is community.

I've only been to a handful so far and it is the perfect antidote to a bad day! Such a welcoming, warm group and surrounded by a rainbow of yarn walls. Can't wait for these to become part of my routine!
i absolutely love getting to sit and chat with a bunch of new people about anything from not liking popcorn to countries we hold citizenships. cleos, and the happy hour in particular, have helped me find a group of lovely new pals who have a similar silly little grandma hobby!

CLEO’S is such a beautiful store and all of the happy hours have been great. The people who attend are super nice and make new folks feel included regardless of experience. I’m a beginner knitter and oftentimes people in addition to staff the happy hour help me work through difficult patterns.

Cancellations
We are happy to offer you a refund or store credit for any Happy Hour sign up as long as you give us notice at least 2 hours before the circle starts. We can also move your Happy Hour sign up to a future date, just let us know when you want to come!
Photography
When you attend any event at our shop you agree to be recorded and photographed during the class. If you would like to request that your face, hands, or body not be in any photos or videos that we share on social media please send an email requesting so any time prior to the start time of the class to hello@cleosyarnshop.com. You may still be recorded or photographed during the class but we will respect your request that the videos or images of you not be shared online.
