.We're deep into spring at the time I'm writing this and all I want to do is fill up a cute little crochet purse and walk to the park, so I wrote a pattern for that very thing.
This purse starts out as a simple rectangle. The flap and sides are added next, then finally the strap. It can be made in two colors as shown, or all in one color! And best yet it only takes one skein of Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton.

SKILL LEVEL
Almost Advanced (not as scary as it sounds, see techniques used below)

TECHNIQUES USED
chain stitch, single crochet, changing colors, single crochet two together (sc2tog), crocheting on edges, simple seaming, crocheting through the back/front loop, slip stitch, double crochet, weaving in ends.
YARN
150 yards of worsted weight yarn total:
110 yards of body color
40 yards of flap & side color
HOOK
US J / 6 mm hook
NOTIONS
scissors, darning/tapestry needle, a 3/4"–1” button, 1 stitch marker
GAUGE
3.5 sts & 4 rows per inch in single crochet before blocking
MEASUREMENTS
9.5” wide laid flat, 6” tall, 2” deep at bottom, 40” strap (can be modified)
