Learn to Crochet a Hat

Learn to crochet in the round and make a hat! This level two crochet class is the perfect next step after learning the basics.

In class we will start the hats at the top and learn how to increase evenly to create a circle. You'll learn the half double crochet stitch, then we'll go over how to use stitch markers and how to measure your hat so that it's a perfect fit!

Project: a hat!

Pattern: pattern is provided in the class.

What you will learn: crocheting in a circle, half double crochet stitch, increasing, measuring for hat sizes.

Required Experience: you should be very comfortable with the single crochet stitch before taking this class

Required Yarn: 200 yards of worsted weight yarn. You must use yarns that are at least 50% animal fiber (plant fiber & acrylic yarns are harder to work with, especially when learning) and only use a dark color if you have good eyesight.

Required Tools: 4.5, 5, or 5.5 mm / US 7, H, or I hook, 7 stitch markers or safety pins
